2009 Synod Assembly

More than 500 voting members and
guests attended this year’s Assembly of the Northeastern Iowa Synod. The Rev.
Dr. Mark Allan Powell, author and professor of New Testament at Trinity Lutheran
Seminary in Columbus, Ohio, served as keynote speaker with messages that tied in
with the assembly’s “Book of Faith” theme.
Members were elected to positions on three committees, two boards and the Synod
Council. Assembly members also adopted 11 resolutions, including six with
Churchwide Assembly implications.
