A total of 454 voting members and guests attended the 2011 Assembly of the Northeastern Iowa Synod at Luther College. With the theme "Strengthening Mission," the assembly celebrated the gift of the mission of our church and presented ways to strengthen mission and proclaim the Good News of Jesus Christ throughout the world by both Word and deed.

Two keynote addresses focused on the mission of the church locally and abroad. Keynote presenters were the Rev. Steve Brackett of St. Paul Lutheran Church, Postville, and the Rev. Twila Schock, director for ELCA Global Mission Support. Schock also served as the ELCA representative with greetings and a report from the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America.
