The Northeastern Iowa Synod will host a Glocal Mission Gathering July 22-23, 2011, at Decorah Lutheran, Decorah, Iowa, with the theme Immigration and Migration.

This day-and-a-half gathering will focus on the accompaniment model in global mission and the diversity and mission opportunities found within the Northeastern Iowa Synod.

The event will include congregational team building and networking, workshops, speakers, worship, music and guided discussions over meals from other cultures.

Bring Your Congregational Team
You are invited to gather a congregational team and register for the July 22-23 Glocal Mission Gathering. For only $35 per person, your team can:

• Enhance your connections with local and global Christians

• Gain practical skills for mission

• Learn how churches are changing how they proclaim and serve

• Lead inviting worship that includes global voices

• Learn about the theology of mission – Accompaniment
• Worship using music from around the world

• Learn about culture and discuss how the dynamics of culture surface in our congregations and mission engagements
• Create a plan on how to contextualize what was learned at the GMG

• Food from different parts of the world.
• Story-sharing about how the synod is engaging in mission.

• Guided discussions during mealtimes
• Meet like-minded people at skill-building workshops

• Congregational team members equip themselves in the field of their interest or work.
• Workshops teach skill building in different areas of mission
