"The Board of Leadership in Ministry
shall be responsible, in partnership with the bishop, for assuring that
pastoral care is provided to, and that supportive relationships
exist for, pastors, associates in ministry, diaconal ministers, and others engaged in
the ministry of the church within this synod. This board shall
provide for the examination of candidates for rostered ministry by
means of a Candidacy Committee. In keeping with S6.04, this
board shall provide for the examination of candidates for rostered
ministry by means of a Candidacy Committee. Persons serving on the
Candidacy Committee shall be nominated by the Board of Leadership in
Ministry and elected by the Synod Council. Further, this board
shall establish guidelines for compensation, coordination of
continuing education, and any other matters of concern to, and in
support of, those engaged in ministry in this synod. This
board may form whatever subcommittees or other structures it may
find necessary or helpful to its work." (Taken from
