Members of the Northeastern Iowa Synod's Lutheran Youth Organization (LYO) Board sent a written challenge to each youth leader of each congregation in the synod "to do something extra this year to help fight hunger."  This challenge was sent via the adult identified by the congregation as the youth ministry contact person.  The letter of challenge included a "Souper Bowl of Caring" poster; a list of resources available on the web; a CD-ROM entitled "Go and Do Likewise" produced by ELCA World Hunger; a report form; a self-addressed envelope; and a brochure describing "What Can the LYO Do For Us?"
